5/1/22 Driving into Oregon

Hey Good People. Hope all is well. We decided to bail out of Klamath, CA a day early. The RV Park was not our favorite. That and within a day we had seen plenty of redwoods.

Our next official stop was to be Depoe Bay, OR but since we left early we cut the drive in half and stopped at Port Orford, OR. Wow, are we glad we did. Along the way we stopped at Crescent City, CA for a bit of hiking up to a light house at Battery Point.

Everyone we met coming up the California Coast said the Oregon Coast was so much better, and they were so right. Almost from the time we crossed the state line, the coast and the interior lands excited us. The rocky outcroppings to the left and dense forests and farm lands to the right…amazing.

Sharon found us a cool little mom and pop RV spot in Port Orford and the folks here very nice and down to earth.

After we setup camp we took off for some coastal hiking and lighthouse exploration in the State Park.

After all of that we finally found some decent fish and chips and clam chowder. We have been on the hunt for these two items since we got to Pismo Beach.
