The Black Hills Area is a natural wonderland; but, the touristy stuff not so much.
We spent three nights in the Black Hills of South Dakota. The landscape and what Mother Nature offered up was nothing short of inspiring. What man had to offer was just a bit to “Daytona Beach Boardwalk” for us. Hill City and the surrounding areas are a bit touristy.
We are a bit behind on the Blog due to no cell or internet service at our KOA just outside of Hill City, SD, but we have it now at The Famous Wall Drug where we are boondocking for the night.
We spent much of our time driving and hiking the area. We drove the Needles Highway just outside of Custer State Park then drove the wildlife loop within Custer State Park. We didn’t see much wildlife, but the scenery was outstanding. Our second full day was spent in Lead and Deadwood checking out some cool history.
More on today (Wall Drug and Badlands) in the next episode. For now some Black Hills pics and videos…
