Elkmont Campground in The Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Elkmont Campground – elevation 2,150 feet (655m) – is the closest front country camping area to Sugarland’s Visitor Center in the North District of the park. The climate is characterized by mild winters and hot, humid summers. Mountain ranges and a pristine river are the backdrop for your Elkmont adventure. Elkmont Campground offers camping for both tents and RVs, with 220 sites total.

ADA Information – Elkmont has 10 accessible sites, campground roads are paved. Wheelchair Access – Amphitheatre is wheelchair accessible. Parking area, picnic table and fire ring at campsites are on paved surfaces.

RV & Trailer Information – All wheels of vehicles must fit on the paved surface in the parking area of each site. Generator hours 8AM – 8PM. No dump station on site, the closest is 6 miles away at Sugarland’s Visitor Center.
