Today we woke up to a beautiful view from our bedroom window……a bright and sunny sky over the Tehachapi Mountains. But today was a long travel day so we did not delay in breaking camp and hitting the road.

The scenery changed from the dry and windy hilly desert…..to flatland…..to eventually more soft rounded hills covered in fields of pistachio and almond trees interspersed with numerous vineyards and wineries. We stopped at one winery to do a tasting and bought a few bottles.

2 hours later we finally we reached the coast amidst heavy clouds and a slight foggy drizzle. Set up camp and tucked ourselves in for the night listening to the rain on the roof……nighty night!
